Why do you need PagePulse?
Unlike customers walking into your store, it is difficult to understand the experience of visitors to your website. Yet, in today's market place the internet has become a critical channel for advertising, transacting and sales.
If visitors to your website don't get a response in a timely manner they will at best, try later and at worst, browse to a competitors site.
What does PagePulse tell me?
When alerts are sent by email and/or sms they contain the information you need to quickly diagnose and rectify the problem.
Reports are produced to summarise the incident and regular reports provide information on the performance of the site over time giving you a benchmark to measure improvement.
How does PagePulse work?
PagePulse works by simulating a customer using a web browser to browse your website, all the time measuring the response against pre-determined measures.
Requests & Responses
Each time a customer clicks a hyperlink or clicks a button, a request is sent from the browser to the web server that is hosting the website. A response is then returned to the customer's browser.
This is simulated by a PagePulse Agent. A request is sent by a PagePulse Agent to your website such as abccompany.com simulating a customer browsing to your website.
Once the request has been sent, the PagePulse Agent then inspects attributes of the response received from your site.
These attributes are:
- - DNS resolution time.
- - Time to receive complete response.
- - Http status code.
- - Analysis of the body of the response.
Scripts
Individual requests are orchestrated together to form a Script. A script simulates a customer performing several different actions on your website such as browsing to your home page, logging on, performing a transaction & logging off.
